Jake Wilson

“A fantastic guitarist and songwriter ... Jake positively oozes with talent” – Dave Swarbrick

About Jake

After training as a classical violinist and piano player, Jake travelled to India to study the sitar. He then focused his attention on the guitar, inspired by the playing of British folk-rock pioneer, Richard Thompson, and Nashville super-picker, Chet Atkins. Jake’s musical life was transformed when ex-Fairport Convention fiddle legend, Dave Swarbrick, invited him to collaborate and then went on to produce his debut album, “All’s Well”.

Jake also worked for a number of years as a researcher for the acclaimed BBC art history series, “The Private Life of a Masterpiece”. More recently, he has spent a lot of time investigating the life and writings of Roald Dahl, and has also been heavily involved with the work of the novelist Russell Hoban and the illustrator Quentin Blake.
